How to Improve Your Chances of Getting PregnantFor countless women, becoming pregnant is relatively easy. For others, it can be far more complicated. Many women feel helpless if they do not conceive quickly, and they begin to think there may be a serious fertility problem. There are many things women can do to increase their fertility levels and therefore, improve their chances of having a baby.

Keep a Positive Attitude

Research has shown that physical health is not the only issue, where conception is concerned. Having a positive mental attitude can make an enormous difference. Negative thoughts will often hinder your chances of conceiving. As stress level rise, fertility levels can fall. Try not to worry too much about getting pregnant quickly. Take time out of your busy schedule to unwind. Everyone has different methods of relaxing, so think about what you can do to achieve this.

For some, it can be as simple as taking a warm, candlelit bath. Others may need more help. Aromatherapy massages and reflexology are wonderfully calming and can make a huge difference to your state of mind. Aromatherapy may also be used to regulate menstrual cycles. Certified aroma therapists can be found on the internet or in your local business directory.

Just spending some quality time with your partner can help. Try to do activities together in your spare time and make sure that you both enjoy them. This alone can heighten the emotional aspects of your relationship and remove some of the stress that so easily builds up when you are trying for a baby.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been known to have a very positive affect on fertility, when used in conjunction with IVF. Research in to its effects on fertility alone, are incomplete. Though, smaller studies have shown that it can be beneficial.

Acupuncture has been used by Chinese medics for around 5,000 years and is renowned for having amazing effects on a variety of ailments. However, its benefits have only been recognised by American medics for the past few decades.

If you are interested in trying out acupuncture, always find a reputable, certified acupuncturist. The National Institutes of Health and The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture are reliable sources for finding licensed acupuncturists.

Ovulation

Your chances of becoming pregnant greatly depend on your menstrual cycle and its regularity. Ovulation usually occurs between the twelfth and eighteenth day of your cycle. During this time, you are at your most fertile and your chances of falling pregnant are maximized.

It is thought that ovulation is most likely to happen on day fourteen (this is based on a regular, twenty-eight day cycle.) A way of predicting your most likely day of ovulation is to subtract fourteen from the total length of your own menstrual cycle. For example, if your cycle is twenty-eight days, subtract fourteen to arrive at your optimum date of fertility, (in this is case, it would be day fourteen.) Nevertheless, women’s menstrual cycles do vary greatly; consequently, your day of ovulation may either be before or after day fourteen.

Ovulation predictor tests can also be bought from a pharmacy or drugstore. Having sexual intercourse when you are ovulating will obviously increase your chances of getting pregnant. Although, couples should try to have sex at least three times per week if they are trying for a baby. The human body is a miraculous thing and ovulation does not always occur when it should take place. Regular sex not only strengthens a relationship, it is a way of making sure that no opportunities are missed.

After you have had intercourse, try not to get up or move around for at least twenty minutes, this will help to keep your partner’s sperm inside your body, again, increasing the likelihood of falling pregnant.

Nutrition and Diet

Having good nutrition and eating a sensible, healthy diet plays a hugely important role. Try to eat a diet rich in fruit and vegetables, lean protein and wholegrain, fiber-rich foods, such as brown bread, rice and pasta.
The vitamins and nutrients that are found in certain foods can also help you become pregnant. Here are some examples:

Leafy, green vegetables, such as cabbage, kale, broccoli, lettuce and spinach, are high in folic acid, a vitamin which is incredibly important for both mother and child. Folic acid supports the development of a fetus and can prevent debilitating defects, including spina bifida. It is also essential for the reproductive and general health of a woman. Folic acid can also be found in bread and cereals and taken as a vitamin supplement.

Lean meat or beans and pulses are very rich in protein and iron. These important nutrients help to keep iron levels high in the body. A blood count low in iron, can affect the general health of the ovaries, and may interfere with ovulation.

healthy eggs and can be found in nuts and seeds, dairy products, yeast, wholegrain foods, lean meat and shellfish.

Dairy products are rich in calcium, which everyone needs to maintain healthy bones and teeth. If you are trying to get pregnant, make sure that you consume enough calcium, in order for your body to support a developing fetus

If you have been trying to get pregnant for more than one year, or you are feeling very unhappy. It is best to make an appointment, to discuss any issues you may have, with your doctor. If your doctor thinks there is a genuine complication, they will arrange for you to see a fertility specialist as soon as possible.

Insomnia in Pregnancy - Great Insomnia-Fighting Tips for Pregnant Moms-To-BeInsomnia in pregnancy is a common phenomenon, debilitating around 78% of pregnant women. Although the unborn child is out of harm’s way, insomnia in pregnancy can cause unimaginable discomfort for the soon-to-be mommy. It’ll be nine eternities, er, months before you can return to your normal sleeping patterns, so you might as well try to make the most of your predicament.

Perhaps the anxiety and excitement at giving birth to a baby is keeping you from much-needed zzz’s, unlike before when you went off to dreamland as soon as your head hit the pillow. Because of some physical and hormonal shifts you will be experiencing, you can expect your sleep to be interrupted by back pains, discomfort as your abdomen grows, increased urinary frequency, heartburn, and even vivid dreams. Aside from the usual morning sickness, you will also have to contend with headaches, dizziness, nervousness, and irritability.

A number of desk employees are known for being insomniacs because of lack of physical activity in their daily routine. Daytime exercise (but not 3 hours or less before bedtime) will help you relax and fall asleep. Don’t do too much exertion just before preparing to sleep as the adrenalin from the exercise will only work to keep you awake.

In having insomnia in pregnancy, as with any other instance of sleeplessness, getting the hang of relaxation is key. Take a nice warm bath, then have your husband or partner give you a firm but gentle massage to ease up muscle tension and relieve stress and fatigue.

Surround yourself with gentle and lulling music, or recordings of relaxing sounds like a steady heartbeat or lapping ocean waves. Make sure your player turns off automatically though, because if you’re going to have to get up to turn it off yourself, then it negates the purpose of listening to a recording to help you get to dreamland in the first place.

Your bedroom must be suited for sleep. Not too warm or you’ll feel uncomfortable from the heat, and not too cold which would make you shiver the whole night long. Your mattress should be firm and comfy, not hard or lumpy in places, that you end up with a stiff neck, a bad back, and other aches and pains in the morning.

If it’s not too cold, noisy, or dangerous, leave the window open to let in fresh air and proper circulation. Curtains and rugs encourage the absorption of light and sound, so the atmosphere is darker and quieter. Earplugs prove useful, too. And don’t forget to turn off your phone.

If you’ve tossed and turned but you’re not in sleep mode yet, get out of bed and get yourself busy with some light activities like reading or needlework until you feel sleepy. The moment you feel sleepy already, you can now drift off to dreamland.

Sleep on your side to alleviate back pain. Bend your knees and put a pillow between your legs. Try placing one under the small of your back, underneath your belly, for more support as well. Pile on even more to raise your upper body if you suffer from heartburn.

Sleeping on your left side would be good for the baby as this causes blood and nutrients to surge to the placenta and your baby, but moving about and shifting positions is perfectly harmless. These changes will make your movement limited, though. You won’t be able to sleep on your stomach for apparent reasons, while lying flat will only aggravate your back pain.

With the weight of your belly pressing on you, sleeping on your back could even lead to digestive and respiratory problems, as well as low blood pressure and decreased circulation, which in turn affects not only your heart, but also your unborn child.

Insomnia in pregnancy need not be a burden. At the very least, you need not be part of the demographics that experiences it. We hope that through these steps, you will not only expect a baby, but you’ll sleep like one, too.

Teen Pregnancy Prevention - Pregnant Teen HelpThere are many causes of teen pregnancy. All parents should stay aware of these causes to prevent teen pregnancy. There is nothing you can do to change the fact after the teen already becomes pregnant, but there are many precautions to take so your teen doesn’t end up pregnant.

Teenage Pregnancy Carries high costs in terms of both the social and economic health of mothers and their children. Teenage mothers are less likely to receive prenatal care, and their children are more likely to be born before term, to have low birth weights, and to have developmental delays. Teenage mothers are also less likely to complete their education than moms over twenty years of age.

When a teen gets a serious boyfriend they may go to any cost to make their newfound love happy. A lot of teens have sex with their partner because they think that is the only way to make him continue to love her. What they should realize is that if he truly loves her then sex definitely wouldn’t be a priority.

Teenagers have a lot of hormones but these can be controlled and before performing intercourse the teens often don’t think of the consequences of their actions. Other teens just have the attitude and belief that it won’t happen to them “that just happens on TV” etc. Making sure your teen realizes that it is a big issue and it is very likely that if they are having sex without protection there are many consequences including pregnancy.

Another cause of teen pregnancy is that a teen is scared to tell they’re partner to use a condom. It’s not that they don’t know to use one, it’s trying to break the barrier to talk to they’re partner about it. Sometimes the teen may also have a partner who doesn’t want to wear protection, and that causes added stress to the female in fear that if she tells him she isn’t having sex without one he will leave her or cheat on her by sleeping with someone else.

A lot of people look at a young lady who uses protection as a “bad girl.” This is another cause of teen pregnancy. A lot of the time it is the parents who don’t want their teen having sexual intercourse and they think the way to prevent this is by not allowing any condoms, birth control, etc. This is very common. Although no parent wants their teen having sex it is a good possibility they will, with or without your consent. This is something else to stay aware of.

If you or someone you know is having teen sex these are some important causes of teen pregnancy to stay aware of. It is very easy for a young female to conceive because of the newness of her cycle. Stay aware and prevent this from happening to you or your loved one.
